And why would Anne ever contribute to an actual OP instead of attacking the poster or posters? IMHO TTT I would be quite happy for the Scottish to go. It would be sad but if thats what they really want then fine by me. Those that like the UK are more than welcome to move to another part of the UK before the split as far as I am concerned. Of course any split must mean that...

It is - but the two are not mutually exclusive in terms of political point-scoring.
It does seem from the British perspective that Ms Sturgeon and her party nurture an obsession with independence that William Wallace wold envy - but it may not actually be reflected in the wants and desires of the electorate.
In the same way that Boris Johnson likes cycling, and seriously believes that the rest of the country fnd it as fascinating as he does - wtih attendent dewey-eyed responses to the miles of cycle lanes being pointlessly painted on the roads ad pavements of UK cities, Ms Sturgeon is in danger of missing the point that, because she wants independence, she is unable to appreciate anyone else who doesn't.
It may yet be her downfall, as she increasingly becomes a party leader with only one obsession, and that obsession is not going to be refleceted the voting behaviour of the people who have put her part in power - and may not wish to leave it there anymore.

Of course any split must mean that debt is apportioned (agreed prior to a vote so the UK doesnt get caught up in the mess financially), all MOD work is moved South immediately, the Barnett formual is scrapped and nothing goes North of the bordere hand out wise and they accept ther is no coming back.
They are quite welcome to use the £ so long as they accept they have no input into any UK fiscal policy, they simply use it to transact business.

Aye and if Scotland does get independence, then us in the north and south of Scotland will want to get our independence also, and reunite with our friends in the rest of Britain.Us in working parts of Scotland dont want to pay for the workshy Weegies and Dundonians for ever more.Let them pay for their independence dreams/nightmares themselves,i certainly dont intend to.
