If you are trying to do the above - and if you feel like a wee cuppa - what would you eat? No fruit please. Fruit and tea doesn't go together.

You need some Carbs.

Exercise is a lousy and inefficient way to lose weight.

If you want a biscuit with you cuppa, then have one.
Exercise tones you up though. You use up more calories at rest when you're toned.

My boys are all toned and slim. They have active lifestyes. My daughter has a desk job and is becoming a lard ass :-)
Have a look at the diabetes website, they have some good recipes for healthy snacking
Ummmm, I eat carbs every day too. In the form of non starchy veg, seeds, berries, what is in dairy, dark chocolate. I don't eat rice, pasta or bread. It would definitely cause weight gain for me, and the more I'd eat, the more I would want. It would also trigger cravings for more, sweeter things. That's why 1 biscuit wouldnt suffice for me. Been there, done that...and I'm happy with my weight.
As for carbs turning to sugar...they all do. That is part of the digestive process. Being active has nothing to do with it.
Sqad, I'm sure you said you knew RosieMiller personally - or do we have two ladies from N. Ireland that have had that surgery?

Black tea, no sugar and a couple of Nairn's cheese oat biscuits with Marmite on them. Or in the evening just two squares of dark chocolate.
The dark chocolate would not be on cheese oat biscuits!! Im not that odd! I could never drink tea when eating fruit!
That's not though what I would eat if cutting down. It's actually what I do eat and like. Not much of a sweet tooth. It's cheese that stops me losing weight. I'm addicted to it! Im also addicted to black tea (decaf). I drink loads of it or water. And a very occasion coffee.
