Painting Hard To Reach Places

In this case, stair spindles. At the top of my stairs I've got spindles both on the landing and opposite them, on the stair. There's just a small gap between them. How do I paint the facing sides?
Tiny roller? Miniature paint pad? Or hand wrapped in sock...yes, saw something like that on YouTube.

If you go the way of the hand in the sock, make sure you wear rubber gloves and long sleeves.
You could use a mini rad roller. If i was doing the job for a customer, i would have to paint the back of the spindles on the landing, then the front on the stairs. Allow them to dry then reverse the procedure the following day.

Of course, I've already gone and painted the front of the stairs. Oh well...at least I can do the landing ones in proper order.

If you can't get in with a mini roller, Pasta, then maybe try a "fitch".

I often used to put a ladder in the stairwell against the wall as you are looking down the stairs and a scaffolding plank on one of the stairs but this isn't always possible.

I've just remembered I've got 2 long handled radiator brushes that are bent at an angle....that might do it.

theshedman...I'm too old for ladders...unless just 2 steps...and planks. ;)
