I've been thumbing through some of it, Corby.

The most important thing to say is that much has changed in the seven years since it was published. But that aside, some of it simply does not make sense. For example, in the section which addresses Scotland's finances, it makes the statement:

"It is clear that Scotland currently pays its way within the UK."

It is very far from clear and goes to the heart of Tora's Question #1. Huge sums of English money are transferred to Scotland, year in year out. I'm not arguing about what they do with it but if the Scots believe they will continue to enjoy the sort of freebies they currently have, they should think again. If, as the SNP suggests, Scotland currently pays its way, they might ask themselves why is there such a large transfer of funds from south to north? And the very important question of how will that money be replaced is not, as far as I can see, answered in the 2013 document (though needless to say, I haven't read all 670 pages).

NJ, at least you have taken the trouble to have a look at it.

The point I was making is that far from the Scottish Government failing to consider various points, as suggested by some, they had for the last referendum and they will be for the next.

Things have changed in the intervening years and all the various points covered in that document will need to be considered a-fresh.

Folk are demanding answers but if they think on how long it took to reach an agreement with the EU, they can hardly expect details only a few days after the election.

Sounds good to me Shootah.Not long ago there was some kind of stories regarding a UBI(universal basic income)for Scotland.£400 a week from the age of 16 i think.There are 5.5 million Scots.If Russia and China pay for it,magic.Both countries will be bankrupt within a month,but hell mend them.
