I have just got a tomtom 910 and turned it on for the first time, set it up etc and got the screen where it first tries to find where you are. I got bored waiting, as i was only testing it out so turned it off - now it wont turn back on!! Does anyone know why or how i get it back on?!
First of all double check its fully charged, if it is return it to where you got it from. Its surprising how many faulty units have been sold. My old 300 when belly up after a couple of months returned it and got upgraded to a 510 for free.(not that you can upgrade yours)
Thanks for your reply teash. I managed to get it on again after phoning the support desk and they told me how to reset it. Any ideas of why my tomtom says it doesn't have a valid GPS signal?!
Are you switching it on in the house because these things are really designed to worl outdoors. secondly, some cars have a solar reflective screen with deflects the signal recieved (i found my tom doesnt work in vauzhall astra's but perfectly in my P206) - in which case you can buy an external ariel. let us know how u get on.
At first, I turned it on inside, then went outside. The black & white screen came up with all the roads etc, but still kept saying no valid GPS Signal! I know it takes a long time, but more than 5 minutes? I didnt go into a car, just stood in the street (looking like a bit of a lemon!!)
