Can someone tell me where I can buy some sand for my granddaughters sandpit please?
Does it have to be a certain type of sand and not one you buy from a builders merchant?

Do not use builders sand to toxic. You can purchase
‘Safe sand” for kiddie sandpits. Google it.
Argos, Wickes, Homebase, etc.

Thanks bookbinder. I looked at Argos but obviously put the wrong info in the search box.
Glad I could help.
Pays to shop round then - Tesco cheapest per kilo followed by B&Q then Argos.
Builders sand isn’t toxic.
But it isn’t the best for playing with.
Good job or we'd have building sites with lots of little castles with flags on the top :-)
Watch out for sand lice/fleas!!!
In play sand Sharon?

Have you experienced that?
Children's sand pits should always be covered after use.

Lots of nasty bugs like sand for their larva, and small animals for defecating in.
Oh gosh yes, the local foxes here would love it, good advice.
Have you looked into moon sand. Used it for the grandkids and put it in a sand table that could be inside or out. Much less messy than regular sand and lasts for ages, 5 years and still going strong.
