OH has his preop. Appointment in Bristol for his Cochlea implant surgery next week.
We have compiled a list of questions that we need to ask.
It is going to be difficult for him. They don't even switch the thing on for a month to give it time to heal. Then it can take months for him to get used to it and actually hear.
But we live in hope that it improves his life style.
good luck for your husband Caran. I myself was nominated some years ago - if that's the right word - for one but I refrained, but I do hope it works out well for him. I'm lucky in that I lipread very well.
don't know about that Caran as I say modestly , as it was an automatic thing for as I just started to stare at peoples lips from I was two years old and it just stuck. Mind you it got me into some trouble many times I mistook the words LOL
