My housemates boyfriend swear in his sleep, alot! and elbows her sometimes etc! This goes quite a way back, apparently when he was younger his mum used to wake him up by wolloping him for swearing when he was sleeping! Do you think its possible to simply have sleep tourettes?

Could be, or he is just an angry little ******!
Tape him and put it on youtube.com that should do the trick!!!
Hi dafty. My boyfriend does the same. He calls them 'night terrors', I call it aggressive disorder. He's worse when he's had a drink, shouting out things like "F*** off" and "I'll cut ya!". He sometimes lashes out but he's never actually hurt me. I'm usually in the spare bed by that time anyway.

Thing is, he's asleep so there's very little I can do about it. He's slowly coming round to the idea that he should probably get some anger management as I really believe there's a deep-seeded reason for people behaving like this.
Couldn't agree more with Champagne!

My boyfriend is exactly the same, exactly! Almost in what he says too. Weird, eh?
It can be a bit scary at times. I just walk away and leave him to it. I slept on the sofa last night in fact. He came to bed and tried to push me out of it!!! hahahaha!

Thanks for your answers guys, have passed them on to my housemate, who roared laughing at Champagne in particular, the being pushed out of bed bit!!! Thanks again! x x

Oh yes, and I think you are right Champagne and Whiskysheri, it has to be very deep rooted problem that causes this.
