What are the nicest places to live in England? I know we'll all have our personal preferences but just imagine you'd only moved to England and someone said you could live anywhere, where would it be. I can think of Salcombe, Brighton, The Forest of Dean and York for myself.

..for me it'd be Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire at least it would be if it wasn't swamped with tourists like me wandering about and making life difficult for the locals!

anywhere near Borrowdale (Lake District). Malham (Yorkshire Dales). Monyash (Peak District). If i can pick a UK favourite then Ayr beats all of these for the views of Arran alone, and the quality of life, and i will be moving there when i get the chance

woolacombe in north devon, beautiful 3 mile beach, excellent resturants including the new damien hurst resturant, good pubs and fantastic views, not to mention friendly people!!
