I’m not entirely sure what Chinajan means because anything that determines acceptance or rejection on grounds of ethnicity is racist. In this case, television companies, having openly declared their intention to increase ‘diversity’ are making efforts to award jobs using that as their criteria. That is racist. Dave is right. Firstly, my first thought was exactly the same as Naomi's @ 23:22.
More prevalent to the thread, why does it matter, especially in advertisements? It's not something I particularly notice (not that I watch many ads, I don't watch too much live tv), and can't imagine it being an issue unless some is specifically on the look out for such things. I remember a similar thread a few months back, complaining about too many mixed ethnicity couples in adverts. Is it really that big an issue? I don't see the problem.

Dave is right. Anyone who voices an opinion that involves race is accused of racism and that so often results in concerns being silenced as is evidenced by David’s departure. He has, in effect, been shouted down.
Mozz asks ‘Does it matter?’ Well, it clearly matters to the television companies who have declared their intention to employ more people from the ethnic minorities - and I’ve no doubt it matters quite a lot to people who apply jobs but are rejected, not because they’re not good enough, but because they fail to meet the ethnic requirement.
Those who are shouting the loudest may be interested to see that poor white children are also being neglected in favour of ethnic minorities - but they might not. That could be just a little bit too realistic for comfort.
