Oh well thanx folks anyway.
don't know piggynose, my edge doesn't automatically sign me out
Modern browsers are configured to automatically switch to an 'https' address, rather than using an http one that's been entered into an address bar, whenever one's available. (That's sensible, as it provides web users with the most secure connection). It appears that Edge is trying to override your use of 'http' in that way and attempting to connect to an https version of the page (which then fails). My own browser, Slimjet, will also try to switch to https but it's got enough 'brains' to give up if the connection fails and switch back to http.

When you reset Edge yesterday, you'll have deleted the 'Remember me on this computer' setting from your computer. When you now log in to AB, have you checked that the 'remember me' box has been ticked again?

I still think that you might benefit from adding your email account to the Windows 10 Mail app. (There's absolutely no reason why you can't use BOTH Windows 10 Mail AND your regular web-based access to your account via Chrome or whatever. It's exactly what I do myself, seeing emails arrive as they come in via a Windows 10 Mail app notification in the corner of my screen but then often choosing to use my web-based access to my account to reply or to send new emails).
