Spoiled Brats, Or Are They?

Why is it so common these days for parents to accuse their child of being spoiled to antagonize the child so that people think that the child is just being a brat when they get told about the abuse going on behind the scenes by them?

My youngest child is a spoilt brat. He's perfect outside the house but is a brat with me. It wasn't me who spoiled him.
