I have always wanted one of these watches and I plan to buy one on a trip to the states in the next 2 weeks . Is there huge savings to be made compared to UK prices , if so, how much as a % ?

it will be cheaper but when u come back make sure u wear it so you dont pay import tax!!
Its usually the same in dollars as it is in pounds (well for most things) so 1000 would be $1000 if you get my drift and exchange rates are wicked... not everything works like this though
Bear in mind that it will always be 8 hours behind.
I bought a TAG watch in the US last year and I found that the classic 2000 range were priced at around $1000 which was roughly the equivalent of the UK price - I did manage to get one for around 300 though as I found a jewellers selling the watches with 40% off as the classic 2000 range was being discontinued. You may need to shop around to get a good price and don't forget to add the state tax on top of the price - although you may be able to haggle with them to get the price down.
