Preventing hair growth on your head

I have a friend who prefers to remain bald and is looking for something he can use on his head to get rid of the hair, preferably to stop him having to shave all the time, and that minimises further hair growth.

I always just shaved my head, I tried all sorts of hair removal products but always resorted to shaving in the end.
Age is doing all the work for me now it seems.
