I don’t ,burgers in buns,sausages etc, eughhhhh
I’d much rather have a sit down meal any day , as soon as the sun shines the smell permeates the air, just when I was away last weekend, we were told of 6 people in one of the cabins brought with them some of those portable BQs you buy in a supermarket, they got so drunk and left them outside to ‘fizzle’ out ( log cabin?) it ignited and went up in seconds, they escaped, the two innocent dogs they had with them perished in the fire!!

Only if it's next door to me...or under my window and I can't escape. ;)

Nooooo, I'd hope that you'd be there having a good time, pasta. I'd even play some of those 60's hippy tunes for you :-)
We are having a BBQ tomorrow. Bought loads of stuff for it today. Bought some duck burgers, never seen them before. Should be interesting. We have drumsticks, pork belly, two different things on sticks. I always make assorted veggie kebabs too. Looking forward to it. First this year.
Weather will be hot, Caran ( proper BBQ weather ), I've never heard of Duck burgers either.
duck burgers, I hope the bill wasn't too big
Jon, got very fond of impala meat on my trip to Eswatini
thanks, campbellking. I remember having kudu, which I found a bit chewy, and other things at a braai but I can't remember what they were any more. (It wasn't this century.)
And don't forget to BBQ some corn-on-the cob. Soak the husks with water and have lots of butter and salt handy, and, if you want to be posh, those little stickeroos you put at each end of the cob.
good thought, sanmac.
I wouldn’t want a hot dog cooked that way :)
Love a nice BBQ so do my family and they all say we do the best one. I think they only say that so we have them around and they get out of cooking.
I love a bbq it I think it depends on what you cook and how confident you are cooking on a bbq
Two dogs died??
the ones i have been to have been burgers, sausages, and sometimes chicken, which i won't touch, as its always undercooked. and don't want food poisoning. I can't say as i care for it, but if it giant prawns, fish, and some vegs, then i would go for that.
Resurecting a post from a few days ago….

BBQ tonight. A good old South African BRAAI (pronounce brrr-eye)

Starting with toasted cheese n tomato or bacon n banana toasted sandwiches (cooked on the bbq) leading onto beef sosaties, rump steak, pork ribs.

Mahhhhn luverlee!!!
//And don't forget to BBQ some corn-on-the cob.//

Corn on the cob is largely inedible by humans and should only be fed to large herbivores who can crush it whole with their giant molars. The only way to make it edible without stripping the "corn" from the "cob" is to boil it vigorously for about three hours. Pop it on the barbie after that if you must. :-)
Maybe you have limited ideas when it comes to cooking food, NJ?

Had some lovely sweetcorn on the BBQ last night...no boiling for 3 hours necessary.
NJ. there's a big difference between the corn grown for cattle consumption and corn for human consumption.
Proper FRESH corn on the cob only needs about 3 minutes, and is a joy to eat.
I loved barbeques as child as it meant toasted marshmallows. Melted sugar...oh joy!
They sound awesome Eve, have fun.
