My Nokia Dual Slim Phone Won't Charge Up

I can't put the cable in the phone to charge it up it turns on and charges up for one second then the cable slips out of the phone and runs out of charge and I can't get the cable in the phone and can you please help me I really need to charge my phone up

Are you using the correct cable?

We had the same problem with an e-reader (Kobo, I think) and the problem was that the USB socket had come adrift from its circuit board. If the socket on your phone feels loose if you poke it with something sharp you might have the same problem.

My Kobo went the same way, a mobile phone repair shop fixed it within an hour

You can either adopt barry's solution or mine; mine was to take it apart, decide it wasn't fixable and bin it.
