Fred, I think that if left unattended the hounds would chase or worry alpacas, we would keep ours on long training leads and make sure they are totally Ok with them before letting them off lead, we still would never leave them unattended with any of our animals. They are pretty good with our chickens now that they know they must not chase them. The first time they came across a chicken face to face they nearly killed it, all three hounds were playing tug of war but just for a split second, surprisingly the chicken survived unscathed and still laying eggs 12 months later. The chicken actually managed to escape her run. These days the if one escapes, the hounds are very interested but do not chase it.
