Internet backgammon

Why are there no players from the USA on internet backgammon? Surely somebody in US must play backgammon, or do they have a different Windows system out there?

Is it because the opponents are listed as English? I believe (might be wrong) that "English" means all flavours of English speaker- UK, Oz, NZ, US etc based...

Thanks Headrush, hadn't thought of that. Two points spring to mind however.
What difference does the language make? Naturally the set of comments would be in each players own language, so it really doesn't matter to me whether my opponent is speaking Hebrew or Finnish.
also there is now thinking in some quarters that Americans don't speak English, they speak American, such are the grammatical differences that have now arisen between the two languages eg "I have gotten what you wanted"
