My mum swears by it - not just for relieving pain but also for identifying underlying causes like stomach problems, gall bladder, kidneys, etc. Give it a try - it's nice having someone massage your feet anyway!
No it doesn't work. It's OK for managing directors' as a method of stress management or someone taking money of you like "palm reading". It' OK because you have to sit down for half an hour.
As part of my previous job I used to give a little weekly talk on reflexology and there was a demonstration by a trained reflexologist so I've seen it done lots of times - and it works. The reflexologist would, without knowing anything about the patient, in the space of a 10-minute demo session identify what ailments they suffered from (always correctly) and even start work to relieve it. The other benefit to it is that it is tremendously relaxing.
Had quite a few session and can't say it did anything specific though who knows. My mum had some and she said she felt awful afterwards but then has a tremendous burst of energy over the next few weeks and it knocked years of her - she is 67 so something must have shifted?
