Please explain these to me.
1. A listening device in schools detected juvenile weapons. Ans catapults. Looks like "a tap" in "cults" -but what are detected and juvenile doing in the clue , please?
2. Group bowling in practice area. Ans nonet . Must be "on" in "net" but I thought that "on" meant one side of the cricket pitch -so where does bowling fit in, please?
3. Gold-plated silencer. Ans Hush money . Why gold plated, please?
4. Seductive woman receiving nomination for Oscar? Ans Salome. Didn't know it but Salome was a biblical seductive woman but can't see how the "receiving nomination for Oscar" bit works .
5. Understanding man's shortcoming . Ans Ken (=understanding) . Does shortcoming mean shorten Kenneth to Ken?
