I remember it being quite spooky sometimes. The only part I can remember is about a swan?? I just can't seem to pull anymore out of my memory. It would have been around mid 60's??

"The Singing Ringing Tree" was one of the foreign cinema films edited by the BBC into episodes of "Tales From Europe". https://nostalgiacentral.com/television/tv-by-decade/tv-shows-1960s/tales-from-europe/

No, doesn't ring any bells with me. The only foreign, spooky series I can think of is The Singing Ringing Tree which had a big bear, a goldfish, a unicorn and all manner of strange things. It wasn't a puppet show but did have some costumed characters and props - could have featured a swan.

That's the one , well done.
Don't forget The Puppets of Rubovia!

Thank you. It was the singing ringing tree. I thought I was going mad as everyone I spoke to had no idea what it was and thought i had made it up! :)
That programme gave a lot of kids the heebie jeebies. Do you remember Children of the Stones?
I treated myself to the DVD of the Singing Ringing Tree. It wasn't until it arrived that I realised it was actually in colour.... :o)

Would the BBC be allowed to inflict something so unsettling on today's kiddies? LoL

I enjoyed Children of The Stones and would love to watch it, again, to see how closely it resembles my memory.

'The Changes' was another quite grown-up series which un-nerved me at the time.
I don't remember 'The Changes' but reading the Wiki entry it seems interesting.
You can watch the full series of 'Children of the Stones' on YouTube
listen to a radio remake https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08sy3qx/episodes/player
Thanks for that, Barry.
I'll make a note of it. :o)
jack, I tend not to watch fondly remembered series - they always seem to be a big let down. Some things are best left as memories, much like ex girlfriends :D

Thank you Barry, It certainly was odd, and yes, I agree, I doubt very much it would be inflicted on the kids of today. I remember it as being quite frightening. Maybe my mum made us watch it when we had been naughty??
