that the USA made a deal with the taliban regarding alqaeda?
i have a good friend he is arabic and very concerned for what is going on at the moment he did tell me that the USA made a deal with the taliban to stop alqaeda from growing does anyone know if this is true because i cant find anything about it
he said that the USA will withdraw and let the Taliban take over as long as aleaeda doesn't grow any more
its confusing for me i did not know the difference between organisations
Roadman, yes:-
//Under the agreement, the militants also agreed not to allow al-Qaeda or any other extremist group to operate in the areas they control//
From a British point of view, it doesn't make much difference. Al qaeda, The Taliban, Isis, Isil, Boko Haram and even the "legimate" parties like Hamaz and Hezbollah all have one thing in common - and that is to destroy Western democracy, destroy Israel and rape and control little girls to breed more of their filth. Oh hang on, they do have one more thing in common, but we are not allowed to say it are we?
how are the UK ok with the USA making a deal with the taliban to me they are one and the same these terrorist organisations it makes no sense to make deals with one against the other
its like being against fast food so you team up with mcdonalds to try and shut down burger king it makes no sense to me
Trunp’s deal was rubbish but they had to do something. Not just up and leave.
The legitimate government unfortunately was weak and corrupt so it would have made no sense to ignore the Taleban altogether
your arabic fren will have read it on the arab web and yes it will be true
say: sabah al-kheir, habibi, inta kwayis?
to him for me. Your fren he will say: he speaks goot egyptian arabic....
I was surprised to hear the Taliban had an office in Doha
and yes they were negotiating,
difficulty for us is - al-qaeda ( the basis, network ) = Daesh ( another network). Taliban ( seekers after troot, and so it goes on)
The Taliban opened an office in Doha, Qatar in 2013. Its purpose was to “facilitate political reconciliation between members of the Taliban, Afghanistan, the U.S. and other countries”.
The US have probably been talking with them since then. Certainly for the past 3 years the Taliban and US have been locked in intense negotiations aimed at ending the occupation.
So the shock and disbelief that it has finally happened is highly dubious. The speed with which it has happened may have genuinely surprise the US military, politicos and diplomats.
The people that make these decisions (UK’s sir nick Carter, USA Lloyd Austin, etc) are not the ones whose lives have been lost (our troops) nor those whose life’s will be lost in the future (the non conformist in Kabul).
To be fair to Sir Nicholas Carter and Lloyd Austin, I am not sure they have made any decisions.
Trump agreed to a peace deal with the Taliban. The two military Generals are just following orders to deliver Trump’s and Biden’s policies.
Gromit - i feel that the head of defence are the ones who are more instrumental in these decisions …(behind the scenes) . And then The uk prime minister / USA president are the ones who ratify it?
