Worth a visit or not? (on a day trip from Liverpool) I know I can Google but wondered if anyone here has been there. Thanks.

I've not been but, from speaking to people who have, I'd suggest that it's worth half a day there. TripAdvisor seems to support that view:

There are frequent trains from Liverpool Central (about 5 per hour), with the journey taking between 17 and 20 minutes. The return fare (without a Railcard) is only £4.20. So you could simply head there and stay for as long as the place holds your interest, without any real need for any great planning.
It’s just a scenic village, nothing to do really..a garden centre, a very small museum, lady lever art gallery .I reckon an hour or two at most.
Worth a visit if you’re in Liverpool for a few days and looking for somewhere outside of Liverpool to visit for a couple of hours.
Yes we'll worth a visit
Absolutely yes! Such a pretty village. Smashing little visitor centre with obligatory gift shop. Jewel in its crown of course is the Lady Lever Art Gallery. Some lovely Pre-Raphelite paintings there. Also the ORIGINAL Salem painting. Pretty decent cafe there too.
I loved my visit there but, as the major attraction is probably the Lady Lever museum, if you’re not a fan of art and antiques it may not suit you. If you are a fan though, make sure you visit Antony Gormley’s Another Place on Crosby beach.

Thanks for the replies. I think I`ll give it a miss and we will be doing art galleries in Liverpool. Maybe another time.
