Further To My Post About Priadel

I have now stopped taking the Lithium/Priadel. I just hope that I don't start having terrifying (for others) mood swings.
I have an appointment to see my neurologist about the neurological problems that I have been suffering from.
I spoke to my GP this morning and she says that I have stage 3B kidney damage, caused by the drugs that they prescribed.
I have to reduce my intake of Pepsi Max, this may be a problem. I will try and find an alternative.

I am off for a sleep, I will take my bottle of Pepsi Max with me.

phosphoric acid. She tried to explain that in addition in some individuals, despite containing zero sugar they can still cause an insulin response which can increase insulin resistance over time. I have cut down drastically switching to sugar free squash diluted much weaker than the manufacturers recommended which unless likely to cause problems. Yes I do drink water as well but it gets boring.

I have been Insulin resistant since my teens, and it has moved on to Diabetes. Reactive Hypoglycaemia was mentioned at some point by a doctor but nothing was done about it.
My weight has always been an issue, at my heaviest I was 22 stone but I am now down to about 18. I know that I should try to lose weight or, at least, eat a balanced diet.
I love Pepsi Max, I like it ice cold from the fridge. I buy the bottles in bulk. GP has suggested taking the caffeine-free stuff - I will think about it.
I hadn't thought about diluting the Pepsi with fizzy water. I don't even know if I like fizzy water. Good idea!
I will think it through (not one of my strengths) and see what the logical solution is. All I seem to be doing just now is drinking, weeing, sleeping and moaning.
Looking on the bright side - tomorrow is Monday and I am working in Oxfam (doing computery stuff) and they usually have a supply of biscuits. I can't buy biscuits for the house because they disappear too quickly so I have some when I am in the shop.

You have done well to lose the weight you have already lost, if they can find an alternative to the lithium you might find it easier to lose a bit more, would It help if we resurrected the weight loss thread for a place to come for support, eating well and getting some exercise will help us both, it's easier together. Let the Doctors sort your meds, and we can help with the everyday stuff.
