Well Co Wicklow actually. Spent a gorgeous day up in the Wicklow mountains, turning green with envy at the Guiness private estate on Lough Luggala. Taking in Powerscourt House & it's magnificent gardens. Paddling in one of the loughs at Glendalough basking in the hot sunshine.
Had a mouth watering lunch of a huge beef & Guinness pie and a late supper of mixed fresh seafood platter. All washed down with a Black Velvet!

Sounds like a perfect day. Have been to Dublin once but would love to return.
Love Dublin! Never had a bad night out!
You seem to have got a bit carried away though with all the Irish stuff though, Sharon ;-)

Yep, that's me!!
Got a party in Howth village tomorrow. I am so looking forward to that!!!
Loved Dublin too!
Went in 1999 and one of the Furey brothers turned up and performed at the pub we were in - so lucky.
Had Dublin bay oysters at Dublin airport before flying home.
Totally HAPPY experience
Went to Dublin 15 years ago with daughters.
Loved it. Beautiful city.
Heyyyy sounds great, Sharon. Bet the party will be good ( we want to see photo's ).

Guiness private estate

Try the gness private estate ;-)
You're making me green with envy ;-)
Been several times and always enjoyed it. One of my favourite hotels is to the south of Powerscourt (and also Avoca - where Ballykissangel was filmed - have you been there, Sharon?) is Marlfield House.
https://marlfieldhouse.com/discover-the-hotel/gallery/

Its sumptuous - full of antiques to the point of one more and it would be too much - yet the parents of the current management welcomed young children with open arms and so engaging that they are as a team - great food as well - think they have a Michelin star now.

Bringing back lovely memories.
My first husband was from Arklow.
Glendalough was one of my favourite places when we went to Ireland.
Hope it has not been spoilt over the years.
I envy you. Enjoy.
Glad you're having a wonderful time, Sharon. We love Glendalough. We'd stay in a Wilderness Lodge and go looking for White Tailed Sea Eagles. It's where I had a strange and surreal experience involving MrsO.
Howth's great, especially for the cricket and when we beat England!
My last trip to Dublin started on the one and only time I "put my back out" as they say. I got from the hotel to Vicar Street theatre by crawling from pub to pub. A genuine pub crawl much to the embarrassment of the daughter.

Have fun!

So Gness, that wasn't your castle at Luggala???
Stuffed from a full Irish breakup, now for a walk round Howth taking in the pier & castle.
No castles for me, Sharon, happier in the cabin in the mountains. A bit in your face and out of keeping with its surroundings for me. It does have an interesting history though.

The Irish weather is treating you well!
Question Author
Yes, the weather has been fantastic, really scorching!!
Hope you all are having lovely weather back home.
Chatting with UK family and friends yesterday, Sharon, they were indoors with the heating on.
To cheer them up I sent photos of pints of G outside the pub in the sunshine and then glasses of white with friends on the patio in the late evening. Strangely, nobody has replied. ;-)
Lived in Dublin for about 6 months many years ago - it's on my increasingly long list of places from my past I'm yearning to go back to.
Nice to see you around again, GG...x
