From a conversation at a mate's barbecue yesterday...

What was the first record you ever bought, or had bought for you?

You have too be honest, even if it's embarrassing now.

I'll open the bidding with mine:

'Devil Gate Drive' by Suzi Quattro.

Also Bill Haleys Rock Around the Clock.
In the 1950s, Kewpie Doll by Frankie Vaughan and I still play his music now without any embarrassment.
Frankie Vaughan, he got a Black eye when he opened a youth club close to where I live. Early 60's if I remember rightly.
Sugar Sugar - The Archies
Was No one forever that year, Netty.
tonyav - what did he do to get a black eye?
jno - oh, dear! That's the trouble with getting old - the memory lets
you down.
FoxLee2tonyav - what did he do to get a black eye?

Just be being there, FoXlee, it was that sort of place.
My first, and possibly last record, was set at the under tens long jump
I could fling myself a long way back then
Ps: I only read the title ;-/
i think it was Eddie Holman, Hey there Lonely girl. a great song even today...
//Good taste not your thing, dave. Both these LPs were probably(most certainly)the worst released by these guys.//

I didn't say I played them (a lot)!
My fave back then was and still is Fleetwood Mac - original line-up.
