Please explain these
1. Cleaner resort for a Western monarch. Ans Charwoman. Both char and charwoman are a cleaner. W is western but Oman is a country not a monarch.
2. Word in the next answer maybe. Ans term [Clue was 2d, 3d was Eccentric cleaner to do entrances to every room . Ans Character] . My googling has failed to find support for term=character.
3. Intrinsically American hero. Ans Perseus. Perse is dark greyish blue colour but can’t see it.
4. Cherchez la femme -there’s a trick to it. Ans Find the lady. Literal translation from the French and a card game (or often a con game). I don’t quite see how this clue is in a cryptic crossword rather than a straight crossword.
5. River spirit around in African country. Ans Nigeria. Niger is the river but cant see how ia or ai means spirit .
6. Flowers to cultivate without moving. Ans Stock still . It seems that still must mean cultivate but if you distil gin you don’t exactly cultivate it, do you?
