My wife paid for parking at the machine. First attempt her money was rejected,second attempt she got her ticket receipt. Forward 12 days. Parking ticket for £60. She tried telephoning, no answer. She tried communication via email, no response. Her only recourse is a letter of appeal. This smacks of intentional fraud. Unfortunately after twelve days she cannot find her ticket receipt. I find it suspect that you are unable to contact anyone to discuss this obvious machine malfunction. Any suggestions?

For future reference if you have a smart phone on you it might be worth taking a photo of the parking ticket i often do this to remember what time i need to get back to the car you could then keep the photo for a couple of weeks on your device

Yes she bought a ticket. Yes, she displayed said ticket.
Obviously a faulty machine. But proving that might be problematic.
I don't get it. How would she be sent a letter for a faulty machine? Someone must have checked her car and said it didn't have a ticket.
Alternatively do you have to key in a registration number when buying the ticket?
Not sure why you feel machine was faulty. It gave out a ticket. WS it displayed proper, did she overstay did she enter right number. What they say waS the actual problem. Ask for evidence there was no ticket displayed.they will have to of taken a photo.

Her car was on camera. Even though she bought, displayed, did not overstay. Somehow her car was not recorded as paying. Even though she had the ticket.
It’s a machine that did not record her payment. camera filmed her parked car, and it’s the machine that says she did not pay, no ticket checker, no attendant.
Hence faulty machine.
The only car parks (requiring payment) that don't have staff checking that tickets are correctly displayed on car dashboards are those where you need to enter the vehicle's registration number, so that it can be checked against the registration number picked up by CCTV as the vehicle enters and leaves the car park. So I'm wondering whether your wife might have accidentally entered an incorrect registration number. That would explain how the problem has come about.

(All of the car parks I use accept payment via either the RingGo app or the MiPermit one. I find that way of paying much simpler, as I don't have to carry change, I can extend the parking period from the opposite end of town if I need more time and, most importantly, it gives me proof of payment if there's ever a dispute).

I always used to keep the old tickets in the car for a month or two just in case of some problemlsyer. Now I just do via Ringo so its always recorded. Bit late now but worth thinking about for next tiime
