Every three years.

Much quicker if you have a passport and do it on line, jennyjoan.

and probably in 3 years time (if I'm around) - forms will be even more complicated.

since I have left work - paperwork bores me right off.
You have to have your driver's licence renewed every three years, once you turn 70 years of age. The DVLA will send you the necessary information by post.

The DVA licence renewal in NI is not linked to passports - the online renewal process allows for you to upload a digital photo as part of the process. If only DVLA also had such a system, thus allowing an online photocard renewal without the extra £75.50 cost of a passport.
Remember to keep a note of the date as though they should send reminders, it is not a law but a courtesy and they can get delayed or go astray.
