Resetting To Factory Settings

resetting a laptop to factory settings

wanted to double check something

it has 2 hard drives
c/ is 300gb and where the OS is
d/ is 1tb and just my files etc

am i right in thinking a full reset wont affect the D drive, right?
that everything on there will not be touched at all?

or is there something i should do to it to ensure it doesnt wipe that drive too?

should i just take that drive out of it, to be safe?
