How's your Saturday going and whats your poison?

And what's amusing your bouche tonight? I need some inspiration as it's an eternity since I actually cooked like I used to.

Chin chin ... your good health ... cheers and all that ...

Yes, Bobbi, but still as you can probably see there's a way to go.

Hopefully our pint-sized kitchen fitter will come back on Monday and hopefully between himself and the Electrician they'll get few things working around here.

It looks amazing you lucky lady
Hope the little man is much better x

He's alright, Bobbi, but he's a moody little unmentionable. He didn't want to go for his haircut earlier and he bit me on the face yesterday!

Ohhh Nooo, little bu$$er :0(((
Sounds like having a stroppy cat.* Kitchens shaping up nicely by the looks of it.
I had polenta and parmesan crusted cod.

* see my latest Toby post in Animals and Nature ;)

Pasta, that sounds amazing.

I would love to try some of your no-carb recipe.
Off the top of my head...nothing is measured
2 large chunky cod fillets
About 1/4 cup each fine polenta and grated parmesan or grana padano
Ground pepper and chilli flakes
Smoked garlic salt...or just plain salt
Several pinches of chives and oregano
Olive oil and butter
Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl
Rub a few drops of olive oil on both sides of the cod, then dredge in the dry mixture...press it on a bit.
Heat the butter until foaming, then lay the fillets in the pan. Fry 5 minutes on a medium heat, turn gently and cook about 3 minutes more. I like it with garlicky fine beans and pan fried vine tomatoes.

Pasta, that sounds delicious. Thank you.
LCG, someone bought me a bottle of Aldi's lemon gin. Very nice indeed. Better than Gordon's. Have you tried it?
nice bar, kitchen, coming along well i must say
Question Author
Hi Naomi, no I haven't tried it. I suspect my mother has. She's a big fan of Aldi's gins.

I quite like the Tanqueray Sevilla at the moment with Elderflower tonic and the Gordon's White Peach Gin is nice too.

I might look out for the lemon one from Aldi.

Thanks, Emmie. Hopefully we'll get finished soon.
