As I wear both long distance and reading glasses - cant remember so well what is the best to buy.
My sister for the first time is getting prescription glasses only for reading and I think I am right to tell her to tell the optician to get her anti-glare and thin lens. Would that be ok for reading glasses. I know the thin glasses are worth it to make them feel "lighter" but would the anti-glare make any difference.

She also mentioned that Boots to whom she going to do suggested "would you like us to another "advanced" test on you for £40 - like sister could not tell me what this "advanced" test is. So I have told her not to bother at all.
She got the all clear at diabetic eye screening - I just told her to go for the regular test in Boots. Advanced test for god's sake for reading. Are they sticking them arm in? I'll tell her when next I see her - to just get a regular test

Hi JennyJoan, I wear varifocals and like your sister, I was offered the extra test, I was told it was to see had I any illnesses that would show at the back of my eye, I declined, I know if I am unwell or whatever - I'll go to the doc then, no point in worrying from an eye test. Something like the eyes are the window to your soul the optician can now see if we're gonna be ill by paying them an extra few bob, I'm also like ael, I spend ages looking for my glasses (that should be on me all day) but find them on my head like a hairband more often than not
