The Americans are 1/2 favourites to beat their European counterparts, who are around the 13/5 mark to upset the apple cart. Neither of which are tempting enough for the fun punter. So i've taken up William Hills' offer on the 'outright combined points winner' of the tournament. If you stake £10 on your selection, you will receive a £5 free bet for each game he wins.
The Europeans have the world number 1 in their ranks in Jon Rahm, who has had quite a terrific 2nd half of the season and i am quite confident i will get my stake back in free bets, at the very least.

Jon Rahm won his opening game yesterday morning, but could only tie the afternoon foursomes. Ties (1/2 points) do not count toward the overall total. Still, a free £5 already in the account. Just got to use it wisely, now :-)

I'll work out tomorrow where exactly JR stands as regards overall points winner - there may be a couple of Americans who have won all 4 of their games whereas Rahm has won 3 and tied the other.

As i suspected, there is one player with a better record than Jon Rahm's. Dustin Johnson has won all 4 of his matches and looks to be almost nailed on to beat an underperforming Paul Casey in today's head to head; tee off 11;59.
I will most likely have to settle for Jon Rahm winning me another £5 free bet (total £20) by beating Scottie Scheffler in their match which begins at 11;26.
I have run my inexpert eye over today's singles match-ups and have come up with an acca. The problem is, the Americans only need win another 3 and a half points to win the trophy and if they get those points in the bag early, it could impact on the later matches where players will merely go through the motions. However, if things don't go their way early, it may inspire that little extra from the Europeans? We'll see;

Schauffele, Rahm, De Chambeau, Morikawa, Johnson, Finau, Koepka and Speith. £5.25 all to win @ 40/1 = poss £215.35.

An amendment to the above acca. Mistakenky put De Chambeau in there - Garcia has been playing very well and i think he may get something out of his match. So scratch De Chambeau, insert Berger and the bet now reads;
