Connect Tv To My Router

I have a TX-L42E3B Panasonic Viera tv which has seen a few years but a great second television. I use another viera for Netflix and network but would like to use the TX for this too, if so how do I set it up?

The TX-L42E3B isn't a 'smart' TV, so it can't directly connect to your home wi-fi network. You can achieve what you're aiming for though by adding 'smart' capability to it with a Roku device

^^^ Davebro's video only applies to those sets within the Viera range that have 'smart' capability. The TX-L42E3B is a 10 year old entry model into the range, which isn't 'smart'.

The Roku42 would be best for my simple use, but is there an ongoing payment for use. I understand tv is not smart and this would assist, but obviously the tv age comes into it !

Nowhere near as cheap as Buenchico's suggestion but PVRs often/usually come with internet connection capability and will give you recording capability as well.

Neither the Roku device nor the Amazon Fire TV stick (or, indeed a Now TV stick, which also converts a 'non-smart' TV into a 'smart' one) requires any form of ongoing payment to use the free apps on it (such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, YouTube, etc).

You obviously need to pay if you're going to be using subscription services, such as Netflix or Disney+. If you've got a Netflix Basic account, you can use multiple devices with it (e.g. your TV at home, your iPad when you're out, and so on) for just your regular fee but you can't stream to two different devices at once. (A Standard plan allows you to stream to two devices simultaneously and a Premium plan allows you to use up to four devices at the same time).

Been speaking to Panasonic and they suggest a basic
Non 4K stick, does the Roku42 cover that? I forgot to ask during chat!

For interest, bought £38 Roku Premiere and does all I need, ( thanks to Answerbank). Set up to my 10yr old Viera was simple but cannot seem to get subtitles. I have followed Roku, You Tube instructions but no success and with me being Hard of hearing I will need to keep trying, haha. Thanks to all.
