I, a hetero, once used the word anygays during a convo in a completely non-homophobic way... But I feel like Ive messed up... Is it wrong for a straight person to say anygays?

Far better to ask this question to those you were conversing with.
What was you meaning and what was your sentence? I never heard the term before
When you said it, what did you mean? I haven't heard that phrase before. It probably meant something that you didn't want it to mean, but maybe it sounded bad to those to whom you were speaking. Had you heard that word before?

I simply used it as a substitute for anyways nothing more
Wrong to say it because its either trying to be funny and failing or it's a meaningless pointless term. Whys this in Jokes by the way
Ugh, don't be faux naive. You must have had some idea of what it meant. If it was said in a simple way without any intention to refer to homosexuality, then don't worry. If it was meant to refer to homosexuality then you must know why you used the term. If you were intending to denigrate homosexuals then that's not polite. If you were just using a phrase that your gang used without meaning any offence, then that's alright. I think that what you should do is ask yourself if you said something that might be hurtful to others. If it was, then just be more thoughtful in future.
Most of the people on this website, Ugh69, are Brits "of mature years", whom I suspect have simply never heard of the word you mention. (I suspect that might be more commonly heard among younger people and/or Americans).

Definition (or, rather, an assortment of definitions) here for anyone who needs some explanation: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Anygays

However I doubt that you've caused anyone offence. It's probably akin to when I first started working alongside blind people. I always wanted to kick myself when I said something like "Do you see what I mean?" or "I'll be seeing you later", as I thought that my 'sight' references were inappropriate. I quickly learned though that they were nothing or the sort; I suspect that you're similarly being edgy about the use of certain words but without any reason at all.
Cant see whats wrong with it...
Ive had many gay friends that would have laughed it of.
I have a nephew who is spina bifida and confined to a wheelchair.
He constantly tells me jokes about cripples etc.

Once had a black friend who constantly told racist jokes (against his own kind)

Im an ex-con
but I dont find jokes about prison or prisoners offensive.

Neither do I find jokes about mental patients offensive, (as a former resident of a psychiatric ward)
Neither do I find jokes about been white, coming from Stoke on Trent, or been male offensive.

Some people just need to get a life....
If you upset people with your words, then either decide to change your words to escape being offensive to people or don't bother. It's your choice. I don't enjoy being offensive, so I try to modify my language so as not to cause offence. Some people love to be offensive, some don't. It's your call.
It seems like a weird word to say, but also seems hardless enough. If you feel bad for using it, then just don't. I sometimes say "anyhoo".
Just another word in the queens English.
