Chipotle Paste
4 Answers
I've been buying it from Sainsbury's for a while...lovely, chunky, Smokey.
Until the new bottle. Recipe changed and it's now a bland thing with a jelly-like consistency. More jalapeno than chipotle.
Can anyone recommend another brand, or...maybe better...a recipe?

Sainsbury's chipotle paste has some of the lowest reviews (with only a two star rating) on Trolley.co.uk, which pulls in reviews from different supermarkets' own websites. See here for possible alternatives:

In particular, I note that the Gran Luchito product is well-reviewed on many websites. For example, a reviewer on Ocado wrote this: "Delicious product. Thick and rich texture - not watery like other brands. Wonderful, deep chilli heat and flavour but not too hot. Leaves your mouth and tongue tingling afterwards. Would definitely recommend".
It's sold in Sainsbury's (as well as by Ocado and in Waitrose and Tesco), so you should have no trouble in getting hold of it:

Chris...the original Sainsbury's product was lovely. All of the recent reviews refer to the replacement one I'm sure. When I bought it yesterday I noticed a packaging change...and the ingredient change when I got home.
I noticed the Gran Luchito one... hopefully in stock in my city centre Sainsbury's.
If not, I'll jazz up LIKs recipe.
