Rates Bill

Until a friend pointed out about 2 weeks ago I never knew I was entitled to Lone Pensioner allowance and so after filling a regular form - I got a letter this morning and I have got 20% of my rates bill a month.

All for being an oul aged pensioner - roll on babies LOL.


I'm off for a diagnostic diabetic eye test at 4pm. Sister has just phoned me to tell me to clean my teeth well and use plenty of mouthwash to make my breath beautiful for the optician - well I never - I'm 70 and she is still treating me like a 10 year. So I just go along ok.

Well done you! It may be an idea to get back to the council to claim what you have overpaid in Council Tax over the years. Fingers crossed that it can be backdated.

yes - the rotten bit about the diabetic eye test is the frightening flash - my sister had to get one (first time for her) - she said she jumped out of her skin, but then she jumps out of her skin for anything fgs.

Rates reduction - I'll maybe treat myself to a nice pair new earrings. We have a nice Argento store beside so I'll have nosey. Thanks Pasta

novalis - do you mean the rates - if so - oh yes they are backdating to my birthday of last years - hip hip hurray - but don't know if they will take ("the backdate off this years' rates) or give me a wee handshake cheque etc - but that doesn't matter.

Only for talking to my friend - you realise "It's good to talk".

Well got an email from the Rates - they took the backdated money off my future rates and also from 29 Oct I will be literally paying half of what I was paying a month. That's great.

Oh I just bought two pairs of beautiful earrings in Argento. luvely jubbly. Don't be jealous Barsel.

The test was as easy as pie. To me not as thorough as the one I got in 2019. Last time they put an instrument right up to the eyeball, then brought me to a room to look at green lights all over the screen and when they got dimmer and dimmer I pressed a button. Then two photograph flashes.

Today - looked at green "ball" floating about for seconds then the two photo flashes.

I did say to him - oh that was quick, he said "that's the way I do it". So sorta wasn't happy that it wasn't that thorough. But hey will we blame Covid.
