Living in the Peoples Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, in Oldbury, I can well believe it.
But can you imagine the dialogue?
"Left , left a bit more, now straighten up my 2nd cousin, putting foot down a bit more our kid. No the right foot. Please proceed a bit qickerly innit. Whoa, watch that infidel woman. The one with the strange chinese writing on her arm and curtain rings all the way up her ears. Yes just like the one you had last week......"
I'll keep taking the medication
Apparently the judge was required by law to demand he take the extended driving test.

The law is an ass.
Yep

I'm blind. And I can read your posts perfectly.
I knew a village policeman who regularly took his vicar to the pub on a tandem. The vicar was blind but would be on the front, reacting to instructions shouted in his ear.
He should of been given a prison term (no suspended sentence) and then deported. It's a joke that he has been banned from driving for three years, when he didnt have a license in the first place. We dont need people like him here!
I agree it was shockingly lenient sentence. He could have killed people, one slight veer into oncoming traffic...
Thats justice british style circa 2006.
Thank god for braille computers, I wouldn't be able to reply to your post without it
Yes, but the point was he didn't kill or injure anyone did he. People who speed could kill or injure someone if they have an accident, but they don't get sent to jail because of what might have been. The guy is a complete fool and deserves punishment, but not jail. As to fender62's question - why would he have been treated differently? Oh, I know, because he is an asylum seeker and they get council houses that should have gone to native brits, more benefits than native brits, better jobs than native brits, benefits for their dogs (native brits don't get these), free legal advice, which is denied to native brits....... either that or the question was racist.
did they charge the co-pilot. who was a banned driver??
do asylum seekers have dogs? I tend to find that keeping pets is a 'western' thing. To everyone else the attitude is 'if it moves, its lunch'
I used to have a tape of a film called,'See no evil, Speak no evil' (Richard Prior and Gene Wilder). Hysterically funny with lots of 'black humour' and one of the scenes was of the blind man who used to drive receiving instructions from a deaf man who couldn't drive. I wouldn't really expect it to happen in real life though. Just shows that I know nothing.
I think its OK if he had a bell.
soooo confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what's this all about?
the person who dressed him for court. should be sacked?
now that there are blind drivers on the roads, I've heard there are going to be braille keys on drive through cash machines at motorway services.
