Never thought that I would say this but.....
Transvestites creep me out!

Had many gay and lesbian friends over the years, never a problem.
Known a few transsexuals over the years, never a problem.

But someone that I work with every week ...ostensibly male...suddenly turning up to a works AGM in a dress, makeup, high heels, handbag and stockings is a bit of a shock to the system.

And then having to share a table while we are eating as though nothing is amiss ????

Found it a bit odd
Left early but wondered what toilets were used?
A lot of people there wouldnt have known him/her.
and the ensuing confusion.
It was pretty obvious that *she* was a man.
(a five oclock shadow didnt help)

Live and let live and each to their own,
but this creeped me out...

Mozz - // Andy - //That absolutely did not come across in your OP nailit.//

In my eyes //Live and let live and each to their own// from the OP completely implied Nailit had no personal beef with them. //

My observation was in response to the new information from nailit - that he is 'trying to undersstand tranvestites' which, as i said, was not mentioned in his OP, or suggested in any way.

Not 'having a beef ' with someone is not the same as trying to understand them.

I have no beef with trainspotters, but I am not trying to understand them either.
I don't think Nailit was making a judgement about "Gary/Mary" when he said they creep him out, that's a feeling not a judgement, I hate clowns - they freak me out and creep me out. I don't understand the insd and outs of what's under this rainbow flag that is LGBT and all the rest, but my friend of a lifetime has a few children (adults now ) and a few months ago she posted a 'Happy Birthday' Message to her wonderful daughter and how Mammy and Daddy were so proud of her (on facebook ) and there were loads of likes and responses and I thought, I know your children, who is this daughter, was her younger son, everyone seemed ok with it all, I still cannot call her son 'Kellie' and that creeps me out so I feel similar to Nailit in that when I am introduced to a person of one sex and then they are another the next day, it freaks me

I am not sure that an opinion offered in the way it was in this OP can actually be separated from a judgement of that individual.

Nailit was not talking generically about clowns as an entity, or indeed about transvestites as an entity, he was pointing out his views on a specific teansvestite, a colleague, and it is that person's behaviour that has created his judgement.

// ... so I feel similar to Nailit in that when I am introduced to a person of one sex and then they are another the next day, it freaks me //

Transvestism is a change of appearence and presentation, it does not affect the sex of the person concerned.

You have no right to put people's pictures on here (except your own, of course)

Nailit, if the photo was an ABer, there are rules against it. If it was Grayson Perry, I don't know.

I've known a couple - no problem with them as there was no problem with the 4 same-sex couples I have known and been friends with. T.b.h. it was lovely having male friends with whom I could really relax and the female couple I know - one was a pupil of mine and had a crush on me so it's nice that they keep in touch.
