I have a very heavy cold and persistent cough with thick mucus, and feel breathless . I have been recommended to try nacsys 6000mg effervescent tablets and would like your opinion please. Covid test proved negative.

Are you in the UK, Margo? They are prescription-only so your GP should be able to advixe

I have little experience of this drug but what I remember is that it ie a mucolytic agent which breaks up sputum and allows the cough to bring up the sputum more easily.

I am all for it andcan see no harm.
