For Smowball

Smowball is new to me
I don’t know if they’re a he or a she,
but then does it really matter
as this is only a bank of chatter.
Only a bank I hear you shout
we’ll come round and sort you out
alright alright, you’re the best in the world
just keep your claws sheathed and unfurled.
Now, where was I, deep in thought
figuring if Smowball was someone who ought
ought to give out some kind of clue
so we knew who we were talking to.
But there again, does it really matter
as we all exist in this bank of chatter
and that’s the second time I’ve used that phrase
and this poem’s not in its “comic” phase.
“Didn’t think it was,” smiles Lie-in King
keep your nose out you, this is Smowball’s thing
I’m trying to cheer them up as best I can
for it reads that they’ve been under the weather, man!
So Smowball, I do hope you’re feeling better
and who cares whether you’re a he or a her
and besides, at first I thought you were
you were some kind of typing error
once again I ask for forgivance
for using some kind of poetic licence
and if that previous word doesn’t exist
then it’s too early in the day for me being too inebriated......!

Oh Pat, you've let the cat out the hat!...it should have been bag, but then that wouldn't have rhymed, so the cat was in the hat and whatever Dr Seuss would have had to say about that, gives another little rhyme there too!...so all's well that ends well and I hope she does!..."who you calling she?" says smowball, coming to her own rescue!
