Whilst being ordered to rest I’ve just watched a couple of these episodes, in a pretty big medical practise. Now I know it’s in front of the cameras but honestly, seeing a doctor the day you ring up, getting a cancellation instantly, physio or injections straight away……. Hospital referrals almost on the spot. It’s just so far fetched. If only lol. Can’t even get in my doctors surgery still lol, everything is still over the phone, so god knows when they filmed this series., but even so it’s so unrealistic…
//Dave, no problem getting through on the phone. In fact I don't have any problem with the practice.//
I've rung mine a few times recently - there are a couple of options, one gives you queueing info & I'm often 25th in the queue (life's too short), the other just rings out unanswered.
I’m swapping to the one up the road that my friend is a patient at, and they are seeing patients face to face again, plus they seem much better in general.
Dave //I'm often 25th in the queue //
That is often the case at my practice but with 26,000 patients there are bound to be times when the phones are busy.
Season 1 somewhere in SE London: 2 Putneymead SW London:3 Balham Park London: 4 Farnham Road Slough:5 Horfield Health Centre Bristol: 6 Ridge Medical Practice Bradford:7 Hall Green Medical Centre Birmingham.
I've watched most of them, it's the sort of programme I like. The practices are usually huge with services like giving up smoking, blood tests etc provided under one roof.
I get same day appointments with my GP and have even had house calls, even during the height of the pandemic - maybe it's because I am in Ireland I don't know but my GP has a very busy practice, so much so, he has just moved into a purpose built surgery with a few other Dr's and Public Health nurses. He would still see me if I rang now and said it was necessary.
davebro, he's no shipman, and if he cannot call to the house, one of the other practice doctors will or ask me to come to the practice. As well as that, I'm no old lady and I ain't got money that I can sign over to them - they'll make more from me being alive
