What does everyone think of this new series? I thought it was slow and boring and Roy Marsden or Martin Shaw he certainly isn't!!!!!

I loved it, never watched the Shaw one so this was totally new to me.

enjoyed it, refreshing to see a crime drama without computers, mobile phones, dna and cctv . . .

Liked Dalgleish. Liked his car. Liked the settings. Didn't like his sergeant, pompous surgeon - 'I know your Commissioner etc', should have been a two hour Endeavour style programme.

I watched it because I like the books. I will give it one more try but if he hadn't been called Dalgleish I wouldn't have known there was a link.

Roy Marsden is Adam Dalgleish, much as I like Martin Shaw he was wrong in this role, I forgot to watch the new version.

Well, Roy Marsden is Dalgleish and always will be. I thought it wasn't bad, though and will watch the next. The sidekick cop was inappropriate though.

After I'd posted the question I realised I'd spelled DALGLIESH wrong and knew the "AB Police" would pick me up on it but they didn't and everyone who answered spelled it wrong too so feel better now!!!

I also prefer Roy Marsden. There was no character to Bernie Carvel and I didn't like the constant smirk on his face. The less said about his sergeant, the better. Agree with aelpmvw about mobile phones etc.
