Evening all,
I have a gas hob which has electric ignition - a 13 amp socket under the worktop into which a cable from the hob plugs into - hope this makes sense. My question is this : can this 13 amp socket be converted to a fused spur outlet to provide power for an Induction hob ?? My wife wants to convert to the induction hob. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless it's a single hob, then probably not since it will require more than 13amp outlet.
According to Google, induction hobs typically require between 4Kw and 7.5 kW of power.

A 13A socket (and, more importantly, the cabling that feeds it) can only provide a maximum of 3kW. So Mrs Fbg40's induction hob will need new electrical work to supply it.
It will need it's own supply rated high enough for the full power of the hob and I think a double pole switch.
You can buy 13a plug in induction hobs.
