I think Matt Baker is brilliant. He has done and is still working for Children in Need. Also the marvellous children who joined in with him

Each and every year there are wonderful people doing extraordinary things and of course the work goes on throughout the year mostly unseen by many of us.

It's been lovely to see the Surprise Squad giving back to help the CiN aided Charities that helped them through their rough times.

Matt is of course one of those wonderful people.

And not forgetting Owain Wyn Evans and his fabulous drumathon.
He and his fellow drummers were fantastic.
He raised a lot of money, 2 million !!

Made me want to throw up!

A millionaire telling us to give while he insisted on a big fat fee for presenting it!

Have a read of some of the Charities that donations go towards, they aren't really things that are covered by mainstream Schooling or NHS - read the stories of the children who have been helped and are now helping others.

I personally know of special needs charities that have applied for funding (having special needs family members) that have been turned down.

Terry still benefited though.

It's very sad that all the Charities vying for help aren't accepted as yet - another reason we must keep fundraising.

Yes even here - support groups for young carers, dance/exercise and theatre groups for those with disabilities that make mainstream attendance difficult.

Discussion groups for the young bereaved - the list is endless and the Government can in no way fund all of these and more.

3,000 local charities and projects...600,000 children. Obviously there is a need. It doesn't necessarily mean poverty or lack of food. There's education, after school projects, early learning, special needs...I'm sure the list is endless.
