Eeekkk...just killed 6 or 8 in kitchen with spray cleaner. Not very healthy looking but not wanted either. Saw one in my bedroom this morning also.
Is it the very mild weather? I've never seen them this late in the season...and so many. Eeuuchh.

Probably something rotting in your neighbour's bin. (not your bin of course, I'm sure that is pristine)
I don't see many flies here even in summer - maybe being one floor up helps.
Yup, had a monster one the other day and just had two Jaspers in the house too.

It's pretty mild at the moment but if the skies stay clear like they have been all day then I guess temp will drop a fair bit tonight.

I'm on the upper 2 floors of a 4 floor building. No bins out...and nothing mucky in my kitchen bin.
Flies seem to have gone as quickly as they appeared.
We are loused out with them. Our attic room is awful (although that could be dead mice related). There just seems to be so many of them this year. Horrid, dirty things.
We had a sudden arrival of some last week, Pasta. We put it down to a very warm spell. Quick burst of Skin so Soft slows them down and up the little hand held vacuum they go.
how do you tell if a fly is "healthy looking"!
A dead fly is telling us to....take a break, slow down and find peace and quiet! Been doing that for almost two years now, Johnny! :-)
there's no flies on you then Gness
I haven't noticed an influx of flies but I let spiders roam about freely, other than 'be on your way' if they try to be too friendly.

And Buddhas.”

The only flies I have seen this year have been fruit flies and they seem to have disappeared.

I've not seen many flies at all this year...until today.
A few weeks ago I opened my food bin to put something in and hundreds of maggots rushed up to the top. I put the lid down sharpish. Flies must have laid their eggs inside when lid was open.
I'm now very careful to keep the lid shut at all times.
It was horrendous.

My worst nightmare :-(

Might be an idea to check in your loft, if you have one. Could be cluster flies getting in to your house from there.
