I think the above is a headphone with microphone. This is a chatline - if I wanted to do this - how do you download whatsapp - and where do put the plug in for the headphone/mic. Remember I am on monitor and computer. Thanks for any replies.
I could be wrong but if you have a microphone, which I don't have, then perhaps.
I was always under the impression you can't download apps onto a PC though.
I seemed to think there was a reason why I couldn't get this and having just tried to download it, I realised I would also need a smartphone which I haven't got!
//WhatsApp Desktop is also as of now, largely dependent on being used with your smartphone and is not independent. So if you want to use WhatsApp on your PC without the phone, WhatsApp Web via multi-device linking is your only choice as of now.//
To use internet chat facilities you need a microphone, a laptop will usually have a built in mic but a desktop doesn't.
Some plug in webcams have a mic but they are not great as they usually too far away. you can but a headset - earphones and mic, or a separate mic but make sure you have enough sockets on your pc if you have all separates.
You can get whatsapp via a thing called Bluestacks, but you might need a smartphone (borrowed perhaps) to kick start your PC whatsapp.
I managed to do it but I don't have any whatsapp contacts and don't really want to use it.
It can be used to have video and audio calls with people, if you have a microphone and camera.
no Barry - my friend (is not that techie) does have Whatsapp connected to her sister in America - I asked her "well what do you do" - I can't remember she replied. So I'll think I'll leave it now - until I get to a wee Ipad class after Christmas hopefully.
thanks Barry - as I get older my friendships get lower and lower through sickness and death. So just have two international friends, Australia and America - to talk to them for an hour would just cost me about £3 - so worth it.
