Just wondering, why was Mahatma Ghandhi, who practically was a symbol for peace itself, never awarded a Nobel Peace Prize? Someone told me that a Nobel Prize was never to be awarded posthumously but of all the people who had ever graced this earth, Ghandhi had to be one of the first in line to be awarded the Peace prize... i think.
i have a book here listing the recipients of the Nobel prizes and very few were ever awarded outside of the US or Europe except possibly China, it was only in the latter half of the 20th century that other nations seemed to be recognised. That may sound like a generalisation and i have not done any statistics but scanning the categories in there it does seem to follow.
