If your TV is receiving a signal from a VCR or DVD player via a fly lead feeding into the aerial socket, your TV will require a channel button allocated to the radio frequency signal entering the aerial socket. If, for some strange reason, you've no longer got a channel tuned in, you'll have to follow the tuning procedures for your TV. (There are almost as many different ways of tuning TV sets as there are models. Consult the handbook or look for buttons, or on screen menu options, taking you to 'set up' and 'auto tune').
If, on the other hand, your TV receives the video signal through a Scart lead (or through phono inputs), then all you should need to do is to ensure that your TV is set to 'AV'. (Simply look for an 'AV' button on the TV or, more likely, on the remote control).
