Can Snow Cause An Orange Moon?

I know wild-fires and dust can but unless they have taken over Devon.....an incredible colour of caramel-burnt orange in the sky on my return from work a few minutes ago.....

Must admit I have wondered about it for a long time and always put it down to some sort of prismatic effect, caused by the snowflakes or hailstones, that alters the visible spectrum. I never eat the yellow snow either.
I was out and about on Friday with my son. We had been up to Betws y Coed to have a look at something and on the way back the sky went just like in the pictures below. As we got closer to Conwy we drove into the perhaps the heaviest hailstorm that I have ever encountered.
